76 The Sidemen - Christmas Drillings Reached #3 on the UK chart, a savage take in drill music of the dire situation in 2022 in the UK so called "cost of living crisis" the lyrics going so far as to name the rogue energy companies involved.

75 Sam Ryder – SPACE MAN This is the song that was the UK Eurovision Song Contest Entry in 2022.

74 Sonic Origins – Menu Theme The opening theme to the new retro Sonic game released in Summer 2022 which gave players on the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, the latest Xbox consoles & Nintendo Switch the chance to play all the 90s Sega Mega Drive Sonic classics including Sonic 3 & Knuckles for the first time in over 10 years, the opening theme is another entry in classic Sonic music.

73 Pet Shop Boys – Can We Forgive Her (1993) Played on the UK Top 100 of 1993, then lots of people who hadn't heard of the Pet Shop Boys 1993 hit downloaded it from the data centres across the Homelands.

72 UK Craigie feat. Matt Lees - Someday References and laments the situation in the UK with the cost of living crisis etc, it is off UK Craigie's new 2022 album "Keep The Faith".

71 Lewis Capaldi - Pointless Lewis Capaldi released a limited edition physical CD single which was enough to gain him 1 week as the UK no.1 in January 2023, it then slid down to 12 the following week.




70 Bart Simpson Does The Kenan & Kel Mashup (2021)

Fuses the acapella of "Do The Bartman" over the Kenan & Kel theme.

69 Mark Miller – Happy (Live at Bromborough Folk Club) A folk rock live cover of Pharrell Williams "Happy" performed in the Merebrook for Bromborough Folk Club.

68 UB40 – Higher Ground (1993)

Played on the UK Top 100 of 1993, then lots of people who hadn't heard of this UB40 1993 hit downloaded it from the data centres across the Homelands. This was the follow up single to "I Can't Help (Fallin' In Love With You) which was a massive UK No.1 success for the reggae group from Birmingham.

66 Game Of Thrones – Main Theme (2011)

Re-emerged due to being used again as the main theme to the prequel series set 200 years before the events in "Game Of Thrones", "House Of the Dragon", the first season premiered August 2022 on Sky Atlantic (also Real ONE in Homelands)

65 Disney’s Encanto – We Don’t Talk About Bruno

This song made the UK No.1 for 7 weeks between January & March 2022, the lead song from the Disney musical animation about a family with magical powers from Columbia.



64 The Lovin’ Spoonful – Daydream (1965) Emerged on chart after being played on an episode of Brassic - Series 4 (shown on Sky Showcase in 2022), it is about the petty crimes of a group of young lads from a Lancashire town (fictional Hawley) and their love lives etc, a former writer of "Shameless" is behind the series. on Real ONE/Real Comedy & Real It's Grim Up North in the Homelands.

63 Elton John & Ed Sheeran – Merry Christmas (2021)

Sure to become a modern classic, this new Christmas song was used also for the LadBaby parody last year and even also featured Elton John & Ed Sheeran.

62 Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas Is You (1994) It Again reached UK No.1 in 2022, after doing so for the first time in December 2021, it originally reached no.4 in the UK Chart in December 1994.

It is now huge every Christmas and again in 2022 reached No.1 in the UK in December.

61 Camilla Cabello & Ed Sheeran – Bam Bam

60 LadBaby feat. Martin Lewis – Food Aid This rough parody of "Do They Know It's Christmas" from Band Aid gave Mark & Roxanne Hoyle now their 5th UK Christmas No. 1 consecutively, in the following week it then fell to #85 in the New Year chart. A Facebook campaign was set up to try and prevent their 5th no.1, and other songs such as The Sidemens'"Christmas Drillings" & "F The Tories" also vied to take the UK Christmas No.1 from LadBaby.  The song references the situation for the poor in the UK in relying on foodbanks and the energy prices crisis, it even features a small segment of the mainstream media financial adviser Martin Lewis  (ITV presenter, owner of moneysavingexpert website) singing.



59 Shut Up & Dance feat. Peter Bouncer – Raving I’m Raving (1992)

A rare rave single from 1992 which sampled Mark Cohen's "Walking In Memphis" which was withdrawn from sale after just around 500 copies due to the sample not being cleared.  A copy was found and added to the "Power Dance Anthems" playlist and also added in chartsound, it was then played on the radio in the Homelands hence making the chart! Shut Up & Dance also released "Save It 'Til The Mourning After" which sampled the Duran Duran hit "Save a Prayer" in 1995.



58 Disney’s Encanto – Surface Pressure

The highest in our countdown from the Disney musical animation about a family with magical powers from Columbia. In the UK Chart "We Don't Talk About Bruno" scored 7 weeks at number 1 in early 2022.

57 Central Cee - Doja

56 Aitch & Ed Sheeran – My G

55 Mark Miller & Old’s’Cool – Sweeney Todd & Ms Lovett About the supposedly fictional story of Sweeney Todd the barber who had a relationship with the murderous Ms Lovett in Victorian era London, the song is about how he would get unsuspecting people trapped from his barbers shop and they would end up cannabelised in pies, it's a pretty jolly song about the dark subject. Liverpool's Mark Miller & Old's'cool released his "Cool as Folk" EP during 2022.

54 Drake - Massive The Canadian rapper returned with another new album (Honestly, Nevermind) in 2022 with this as the lead single.

53 BenzZ – Je M’Appelle samples "Destination Calabria"  from 2008.

52 Raye feat. 070 Shake – Escapism Recently made no.1 in January 2023, would have reached no. 1 in December in the UK chart were it not for christmas songs.

51 UK National Anthem – God Save The Queen Emerged after the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 who had served for the previous 70 years (since 1952) as the monarch of the UK, this is the British national anthem.

49 Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds – It’s Coming Home For Christmas Although it failed to even make the UK Top 100 it was somewhat of a hit here, another reworking of the most famous football song of all time "Three Lions" that was associated with the Qatar World Cup that had to be played in December due to the heat in the Middle East, the lyrics reference that and more and put in so called "woke" rebukes to some of the songs classic lyrics.

48 Clean Bandit feat. Whitney Houston – How Will I Know (2021) A reworking the 1987 Whitney Houston song is the last known Clean Bandit hit for now, it only made no. 92 in the UK chart in late 2021.

47 Schak feat. Kim English – Movin’ All Around Only a minor hit in the UK chart, Schak have done flash mobs across the UK and this features a sample of a song Kim English sung on back in 2001 (HLY 14)



46 Mark Miller – Bitumen Blues An original song which tells the story of the working man.

45 Livin’ Joy – Where Can I Find Love (1997) (The Battersbys vs Curly Coronation Street 1997) Played by the Coronation Street Battersby sisters and annoyed Curly Watts through the wall in Summer 1997. Featured in a Cream radio show which played the dance songs etc they annoyed their neighbours with when they first crash landed onto Coronation Street in June 1997.



44 Mark Miller & Old’s’cool – Childe Of Hale about the legend of the “Childe of Hale” a real life giant from the village of Halewood south of Liverpool in the 17th Century.

07 Eliza Rose & Interplanetary Criminal – B.O.T.A (Baddest Of Them All) Her debut single after finding exposure on "Soundcloud".

06 Latto feat. DJ Khaled & Mariah Carey  - Big Energy One version featured Mariah Carey, features a sample taken from Tom Tom Club "Genius Of Love" which was a very minor hit in 1981.

05 Ed Sheeran & Fireboy DML – Peru (2021) First emerged November 2021, it has been a slow burn hit.

02 Lizzo – About Damn Time Sort of a comeback single after 3 years (after "Juice" & "Good As Hell" despite how high profile Lizzo has been, it was followed up by “2 Be Loved (I’m Ready”

01 LF System – Afraid To Feel It is based on Silk’s “I Just Can’t Stop Turning You On” from 1979 which has also as a result made The Star Chart of The Year itself. It has no constant beats per minute, it speeds up and slows down. It is the first hit for LF System who are house music producers from Glasgow.
